Then Eli realised that the Lord was calling the boy. So Eli told Samuel,“Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, “Speak Lord, for your servant is listening.”1 Samuel 3.9

Lord, let us not close our ears to hear your call but respond to it as Samuel did when he was yet a child. Let our hearts say with him, “Speak Lord, for your servant is listening.”

Women and Children affected by HIV/AIDS

 
She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feetlistening to what he said. Luke 10.39

Lord, amongst the difficulties of home and family life, let us learn from Mary and choose what is better and spend time sitting at your feet listening to what you have to say to our hearts.

Praise you Jesus, that when you plough the rough ground you do not plough continually but you plant seed in its time. When hard ground is ploughed in us let your seed of the knowledge of your gift of eternal life be sown in our hearts.

Lord, as we pray for your hurting ones today, may they hear your voice and follow your leading into eternal life. Thank you Jesus, that no-one can snatch them out of your hand.
