Prayer Diary 2009_01

“The Light of Life”

Each Prayer Diary has an overall theme, in this case, 'The Light of Life'.

"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
John 8.12

For each day there is an overall HIV/AIDS topic to bring before God in intercession. This is followed by a passage from Scripture relating to the theme followed by a prayer to guide our intercession.

In the Prayer Diaries that we send out by email and post to our signed up intercessors, we include also, the details of the specific individuals and organisations who have requested that we intercede for them. These details have been removed from the this web version to protect the confidentiality of the individuals.

MONDAY

"He asked for life and you gave it to him." Psalm 21.4

Thank you Jesus, that you do answer our prayers. As we pray, your life is being released into those we are praying for. Keep us faithful to our calling and draw us closer and closer to you.

Women and Children affected by HIV/AIDS 

"For we were once in darkness, but now you are Iight in the Lord. Live as children of light ..." Ephesians 5.8

Bless all women and children now living as children of light. Teach us all about the fruit of the light, goodness, righteousness, and truth, knowing that this is what pleases you, O Lord.

Homecare Teams 

“Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble." 1 John 2.10

We pray for all homecare teams taking your light, O Christ, into each home that they visit. May they show brotherly love to each person they meet, so that your Christ light can be shared in that home.

HIV/AIDS & Drugs and HIV/AIDS Medication 

“... through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death." Romans 8.2

Thank you Jesus, that through your Spirit of life, we can be set free from the law of sin and death. May each one struggling with HIV and drugs know your victory and be filled with your light of life.

Lord God,we pray for all with HIV/AIDS who do not yet know your voice. We pray that they come to know you as the good shepherd and enjoy the fulness of life that you bring as we walk step by step with you.

HIV Education 

“... you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life." Philippians 2.15-16

Show us Jesus, how to shine like stars in the universe as we hold out the word of life. Let your living word penetrate each heart so that none may be lost, but all may receive the light of life.

The Very Ill and Bereaved 

“For your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory." Colossians 3.3-4

Release your healing Lord, we pray, on those who are very ill this day. Let them know the comfort of your word saying that their lives are safely hidden with you and that they too, in your timing, will appear with you in glory.
